Celine's Spring Summer 2014 Paris Show was a riot of colour, matierial and pattern. Painterly brushstrokes were not applied to the surface but woven into the cloth; simple black marks on a white background contrast with overlapping tones of red, orange and brown which suggest an intriguing sense of depth. The collection also explores an exciting approach to material; fine pleated skirts feature sheer panels whilst loops of thread hung from garments as if they were falling apart.
