In their latest film Dezeen talk to product designer Hella Jongerius about working with colour and textiles. Jongerius, Creative Director or Colour, Textiles and Surfaces at Vitra, talks about the importance of not always designing something completely new but reinventing that which already exists. "If you design a textile you don't have to design a full new piece," she says. "Just the skin can make the new design. That's why I find textiles interesting and also a nice subject for the future." Jongerius discusses the power of textiles and colour as she re-works classic Eames and ProuvĂ© designs by creating new, fresh colour palettes. As part of her investigation into textiles, Jongerius has been studying how colours transform from morning to evening; the interesting results can be seen on the colour wheel.
