The Thread Wrapping Machine is the brain child of the Royal College of Art Design Product graduate Anton Alvarez. Instead of using conventional screws and nails to join different materials this machine uses glue coated thread to bind components together; creating pieces of furniture as well as installations. Alvarez experiments with several different coloured threads in each piece; the layers of thread create a decorative effect and give the surface an intriguing sense of depth.
