The Burberry Prorsum SS12 show feels surprisingly autumnal; a colour palette including cobalt blue, mustard, plum, bronze and green seen in leather, knitted and woven fabrics. The prints appear to reference traditional African patterns which add a playful element to the collection; especially alongside the graphic 3 dimensional embellishments seen on everything from t shirts to trenches. The styling of the pieces is really exciting and in keeping with the fun mood evoked by a lot of the shows so far; coats cinched at the waist with thick beaded belts, layered knitwear tucked into full skirts as well as a maximalist, clashing approach to colour and pattern.
