P R O J E C T I O N

Every Monday evening at the RCA there is an experimental drawing class called Drawing LAB. The class explores different approaches to drawing, for example drawing through feeling, projection etc. Last week large slabs of ice were placed on top of an over head projector and the image covered the walls and floor. Over the course of the evening we drew the ice melting; the image was constantly changing  and moving. We even experimented with drawing with pieces of the ice, using it to distort marks and make colours bleed into one another.

Today I went back to the drawing studio and played with projecting my drawings onto one another. It was interesting to play with layers of marks and colours. I particularly like how the projected patterns have a digital, pixelated quality compared to the original drawings.
