Following my post about Mogu Takahashi's Daily Doodles Summer 2013 film, I've since discovered it's predecessor, Daily Doodles Spring 2013. Above are some stills of my favourite pages; I particularly like the lightbulb dog, the escaping cowboy and the various faces of joy. Click here to watch the film in full.

In their latest film Dezeen talk to product designer Hella Jongerius about working with colour and textiles. Jongerius, Creative Director or Colour, Textiles and Surfaces at Vitra, talks about the importance of not always designing something completely new but reinventing that which already exists. "If you design a textile you don't have to design a full new piece," she says. "Just the skin can make the new design. That's why I find textiles interesting and also a nice subject for the future." Jongerius discusses the power of textiles and colour as she re-works classic Eames and Prouvé designs by creating new, fresh colour palettes. As part of her investigation into textiles, Jongerius has been studying how colours transform from morning to evening; the interesting results can be seen on the colour wheel. Click here to watch the film.

Marni_Lab has made a film entitiled 'The Gray Garden' to promote their Autumn Winter 2013 collection. The prints in the collection are largely based on trees and woodlands so it is only fitting that the making of the film took place in a forest. The models were captured walking in front of and behind large printed images of trees which act as a backdrop to the garments.

I've been playing with putting stills of my work into film. I really love the moment when two images are fading into each other, creating this layering of hand drawn pattern and photography.

Mandeep Ahira of The Listen Collective, photographed my final MA collection and has since made a look book of his own interpreting the shoot. I particularly like how he experimented with collaging the same image at different scales on top of one another. Click here to see the rest of the lookbook.

We're currently working on our final personal project of the year, 'Branding'. Its a chance to think about what we love about design, how we work and what we see our designs being used for. After lots of external projects and set briefs its great to be focusing on my own work again. I'm keen to highlight the process of making within my brand, placing an emphasis on documenting through drawing and film. I think as a practitioner it is easy to take your own approach to process for granted though it is something others find fascinating and can provide a great insight into who you are. I really like this series of stop frames on the Marni website which show the translation of a rough CAD drawing into a finished pattern; a method of recording I am keen to explore.

Inspired by Studio Glithero's documenting of the process of making their pieces I am currently making a film to go alongside my project entitled 'The Make'.

One of our current projects is to make a digital presentation of our work so far this term. I'm really interested in the process of making; something a lot of practitioners take for granted as the emphasis tends to be on the outcome not the journey. I recently discovered the work of Glithero who have created a series of films which document the making of their work, placing equal emphasis on process and outcome. The above images are still from their film 'Paper Planes' which was a collaboration with the Baddeley Brothers for Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition.
