P O P U P

Last week Their Shop had their pop up shop! Their Shop is a collective of designers and makers, founded by my illustrator sister, Chloe, jeweller mother, Fran and me (click here to find out more). Based in the beautiful Walcot Chapel in the centre of Bath, we were selling our own pieces alongside the work of artists and designers carefully selected by us, including Cornelia O'Donovan, Bobby Dazzler and Jill. The shop was a great success and hopefully the first of many. Subscribe to the Their Shop blog to keep up to date on future events.

Click here to see what's been inspiring me recently. Tumblr posts range from photographs of Sophie Taeuber Arp's cardboard costumes and Patrick Heron's silk scarves to Kinfolk's How to Build a Hammock guide and collections of Mexican masks, as well as a few images of my own work.

W A W A

Following a collaborative project with Wawa design there will be an exhibition of the final outcomes at Clifton Nurseries, Maida Vale. To celebrate Wawa's anniversary they are relaunching Richard Ward's iconic rocking chair. The wooden framed chairs have been upholstered with fabric designed by established and emerging designers including Margo Selby, Eleanor Pritchard, Beatrice Larkin and myself. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

M A R C A

Following Convocation on Friday I have officially gained my masters! The end of the year means we now all have the huge task of clearing the studio. I'm finding it hard to throw even the smallest scraps away and keep making new patterns instead!

I've been playing with putting stills of my work into film. I really love the moment when two images are fading into each other, creating this layering of hand drawn pattern and photography.

ShowRCA 2013 is open from June 20th - 30th 12-8pm (excluding Friday 28th). The show is split between the two Royal College of Art sites in Kensington and Battersea. The Textile Design students are exhibiting in Kensington with Design Products, Vehicle Design, Innovative Design Engineering, Visual Communication, Design Interactions and History of Design. Courses showing in Battersea include Ceramics and Glass, GSM&J, Architecture, Painting, Photography and Sculpture.

At the Private View for the show I was awarded the Althea McNish prize for my use of colour in textiles. Althea is an alumni of the RCA Textiles course and is renowned for her exotic use of colour.
